The Ashen Ring
Asynchronous 1v1 duels between Wanderers. No appointments, no waiting for an opponent to be awake.
The Ashen Ring is finished and waiting. It opens once enough Wanderers are playing to fill a ladder — a duelling ring with nobody in it is worse than no ring at all. Everything on this page is how it will work the day it opens.

How a duel works
You never fight a live player — you fight a snapshot of their build: their stats, their gear, their class skills, played by the Ring itself. That means nobody loses HP in the Arena, on either side. Your opponent doesn't have to be online, doesn't get interrupted, and doesn't wake up wounded because someone challenged them at 3am.
- Opens at level 5.
- Each duel costs 10 Energy.
- 10 challenges per day, resetting 24 hours after your first duel.
- You won't be offered the same opponent again for 6 hours.
Matchmaking is by Power, not level
Every build has a Power score — your HP, your attack and magic attack, your defense, and a little weight for your level. The Ring looks for opponents within 25% of your own Power, widening the search only if nobody that close is available. A level 30 in starter gear and a well-equipped level 20 can absolutely meet in the ring; a beginner and a veteran will not.
Valor buys prestige and tools, never power
Winning pays Valor, the Arena's own currency. It buys three things: titles, flair shown beside your name on this site's ranking, and a handful of items that work only inside the Arena. It buys no stats, no gear, and nothing at all that helps you while hunting. Arena success can never be converted into power outside the ring — that is the whole reason competitive PvP can sit beside a game that sells anything at all.

Arena items
Note what is not on this list: nothing grants extra duels. More fights would mean more Valor, and the shop would end up funding its own currency.
| Item | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Scouting Report | See an opponent's full build before you spend a challenge on them. | 60 Valor |
| Grudge Token | Challenge someone again immediately, ignoring the 6h cooldown. | 120 Valor |
| Second Wind | Refunds the challenge slot of your next Arena defeat. | 200 Valor |
Seasons
The ladder runs in 60-day seasons. When one closes, the top three Wanderers are recorded and take a season title plus a Valor purse, and everyone's ladder points reset to zero. Your wins, losses, Valor, and any title you already earned are never reset — a season resets the standings, not your character.
Losing a duel you were never present for costs ladder points but can never push you below zero, and a successful defence pays you Valor and points even though you weren't there to see it.
You'll know you were challenged
The bot messages you when someone enters the ring against you — at most once every few hours, however many challenges arrive. And whenever you open the game, the main menu tells you how many duels were fought against your build while you were away and how many of them your defence held.
